Treatment Options

The information we gain from your dental health check is used to form a plan to improve you current dental health and then to keep you that way.

If you require treatment, either through necessity or if cosmetic, through choice, there are a number of ways to achieve this.

We have a number of techniques to use to restore teeth to health, ranging from minimally invasive sealants, using our air abrasion unit to natural looking white fillings.

If the tooth is badly broken it may be more appropriate to place a crown on the tooth. These strong restorations can be made of tooth coloured porcelain, and can even be made metal free for maximum cosmetic appeal.

If the tooth has suffered a problem with the nerve it may be possible to treat the tooth with a root filling. Using modern techniques most teeth can be restored this way and 'brought back from the brink'.

However if a tooth is lost and a space remains, we can fill the gap with a variety of options, ranging from cost-effective, minimally invasive fibre-reinforced composite bridges, acrylic, metal or flexible polymer dentures, to all-ceramic porcelain bridges and state-of-the-art dental implants. If a dental implant is required, we work in conjuction with a very experienced implant surgeon, to ensure you receive then best of care.

Alongside this we can also help people who suffer from the effects of night-time tooth grinding, such as sore teeth, headaches, and jaw clicking and locking. The provision of a night-time bite guard is an effective and non-invasive way to limit these effects. And if snoring is your issue, we can carry out a sleep assessment to identify if we can help stop the snoring with a snore-guard, or if you are a possible sufferer of obstructive sleep apnoea.

To cosmetically improve the appearance of your teeth, you may wish to consider professional tooth-whitening, a simple, non-invasive and effective way to lighten the colour of natural teeth. Alternatively you could consider having porcelain veneers placed to improve the colour and/or alignment of your teeth. We are also able to use clear braces to straighten your teeth to give you the smile you want, without advertising the fact you are wearing braces to everybody!

All the above can only be achieved if built on a solid foundation of good gum care (both professionally and at home), with the best up-to-date preventative advice to ensure your teeth and dental health are a long-lasting and trouble free investment.
